How does the Canadian embassy process a study permit application?
After your completed application is received by the Canadian embassy, they make sure that your application is complete in all respect - particularly the offer of university admission, proof of availability of funds for study in Canada. Then they look into your travel history to make sure that there were no problems - such as any overstay etc. They will ask you to undergo a medical examination by a doctor approved by the Canadian Embassy. Finally you will be interviewed by the visa officer at the Canadian embassy; this could be a telephone interview or face to face interview. At this interview you need to convince the visa officer that you would return to your home country once you complete your studies.
